How do you find out who manages my strata building – Who is my strata manager?

Question: I have asked my rental agency who our strata manager is but the contact they provided is incorrect and they are not interested in telling me more. Is there a Who Is My Strata Manager register?

I’m a long-term renter of my apartment and am trying to find out a contact for the strata management company responsible for my strata building. I have asked my rental agency “who is my strata manager” – but the contact they provided is incorrect and they are not interested in telling me more.

I have an enquiry that relates to getting NBN to my apartment and the NBN people have asked I touch-base with the Strata group. If you can please advise who I contact or how I might find this information out – it would be greatly appreciated. Is there a Who Is My Strata Manager register?

Answer: There is no national or state base register of who manages units..

What a fantastic question. I’m sure many renters and occupiers of units would love to know how to find out who is the strata manager.

Firstly there is no national or state base register of who manages units. This would be a fantastic tool, however, it would also be a logistical nightmare to manage and keep up to date.

I suggest you first talk to your agent and if they are no help, speak to the landlord if you are able. Your landlord will definitely have information on who is the strata manager.

If that fails, maybe take a walk around your complex and ask some of the owner-occupiers. I suggest that would be your next best point of contact. You could even try randomly calling strata companies but you may not get very far.

That’s really all you can do …..when asking “who is my strata manager”, you may just have to do a bit of old fashion detective work!

      As Tyson says above when asking “who is my strata manager”, you may just have to do a bit of old fashion detective work!”

    On Victoria the pc legislation requires the Owners Corp details to be posted in a sign near the letter boxes.

    This has to be kept up to date.
